RENEWABLE BIO-FUELS
Bio-fuels encompass several different types of raw material that are all derived from renewable biological sources (organic plants, animals, and waste). The key word is renewable. Unlike the limited, essentially finite resource of hydro-carbon-based petroleum products, these raw materials can be easily grown / raised on farms to produce a continuous source for the “feedstock” required for bio-fuel production. In the case of biodiesel, the end product, technically known as mono alkyl esters, is a clean-burning, diesel-equivalent processed fuel that is made from natural, biological sources (including vegetable oils, animal fats, and algae). Because of its positive environmental impact, biodiesel has been termed “green” oil. From the Farm to the Fuel TankZeon is dedicated to promoting the use of bio-fuels, primarily biodiesel, through retail locations and for specialized power generation sites. In addition to establishing locations where consumers can access biodiesel at competitive prices, critical to the growth and increased integration of this environmentally friendly fuel is the availability and economically competitive price of bio-fuel feedstock. Zeon is committed to working with producers of various raw material sources to improve the efficiency of production and the development of a lower-cost, non-food source feedstock. Zeon is closely affiliated with an overseas agriculture group developing algae feedstock farms. Properly produced and harvested, algae has the potential of substantially higher crop yield at a fraction of the cost of current feedstock sources. |
